「真實不虛」取自心經內容，這是一幅以墨線表現為主的現代書法作品。在這件作品中，濃淡墨線為背景，為了營造以「幻」「虛幻」為指向的氛圍，墨與水與宣紙結合的自然氤氳的效果，整個背景給人以朦朧虛幻的感覺，然後在這個「幻」的背景之上，用濃墨書寫「真實不虛」四字，形成了一種強烈的反差，一是淡墨與濃墨的反差，二是「虛幻」與「真實」的反差，這正是本件作品所要揭示的主旨：真實的背後是虛幻，而幻也是一種真實，即〈心經〉所宣揚的「空」「幻」的思想。
“Reality, Not Illusion” is taken from The Heart Sutra. This is a piece of modern calligraphy work mainly expressed with ink lines. The background of strong and light ink lines creates an “illusion-oriented” atmosphere. Through the natural dense effect from the combination of ink and Xuan paper, the background brings an obscure and illusory feeling. The four characters “Zhen Shi Bu Xu” (Reality, Not Illusion) written with strong ink strongly contrast the background of “illusion.” On the one hand, it is a contrast between light ink and strong ink. On the other hand, it is the contrast between “illusion” and “reality.” This is the theme of the work: Behind reality is an illusion, but illusion is also reality. This mirrors the thinking of “emptiness” and “illusion” in The Heart Sutra>.
