鄭麗雲對於汪洋的海水，有著特殊的情感，面對無邊大海，既是深慕又是敬畏！大海孕育了她的島國文化基因，也承載了她對鄉土家園的情感投射；她刻劃海水瞬息萬變、深不可測的神祕能量，捕捉水面光影分明、或深邃詭譎的色彩變化，因太陽方位的移動、時間的變化、海面水氣的厚薄等不同狀況而產生的各種天光海色，許是她樂此不疲、表現無窮的題材，但他並非單純的海景畫家，她畫中的「水世界」，並不是某時某刻某一地點的海景畫，而比較接近於中國傳統山水繪畫理論中，所特別鼓吹和強調的一種超越自然的「造境」，和一種回歸自我表達的胸中「意境」。
Leigh Wen has a unique bond with the vast ocean. Standing before the endless sea, she feels both awe and profound admiration. The ocean has nurtured the cultural essence of her island homeland and serves as a vessel for her emotional connection to it. She depicts the ever-changing, mysterious energy of the sea, capturing the dynamic interplay of light and shadow on its surface and the profound shifts in color. These transformations in the seascape are shaped by the sun's shifting position, the passage of time, and the varying density of moisture above the ocean. Perhaps this is a subject she passionately explores and endlessly expresses, yet she is far more than a seascape painter. The "world of water" in her works transcends specific moments or locations, aligning instead with the Chinese landscape painting philosophy that emphasizes creating a transcendent "constructed realm" and evoking an inner "artistic conception" as a reflection of self-expression.
